About The Project
This project didn’t start as a design… it started as a problem.
The existing space was visually heavy, fragmented, and not suitable for a calm café experience. The first decision was not what to add — but what to remove.
We stripped the entire unit back to shell & core, resetting the space completely before introducing any design direction.
The core idea was simple:
Create a space where people feel comfortable staying, not just passing through.
Instead of relying on decorative elements, the design is built on controlled surfaces, light tones, and material continuity. Walls are treated with Italian microcement to create a soft, uninterrupted texture, while Jotun paint systems maintain consistency across all surfaces.
The flooring plays a major role in defining movement and use. Microtopping on the ground floor gives a seamless, durable surface, while porcelain on the upper level supports higher traffic without breaking the visual language.
The bar is the functional heart of the space.
Built using Corian with an internal stainless steel structure, it integrates all operational needs — display refrigeration, ice machines, water filtration, and under-counter systems — without exposing technical clutter.
HVAC was not treated as an afterthought.
Air distribution was carefully planned to maintain consistent cooling without affecting ceiling lines or customer comfort zones — something often overlooked in café projects.
Lighting was designed to work quietly.
No dramatic contrasts, no visual noise — just controlled, indirect lighting and wall niches that add depth without distraction.
The result is not a “loud” design.
It’s a controlled environment — where materials, light, and function are balanced to support the actual purpose of the space.
